The Early Years, Childcare and Play Service
The aim of the Early Years, Childcare and Play Service is to deliver the Government's National Childcare Strategy within the city of Wolverhampton, ensuring that parents and children have access to good quality and affordable childcare.
We also offer support and guidance to childcare providers including:
- Childminders
- Playgroups
- Private nurseries
- Independent school nurseries
- Voluntary groups
- Children’s centres
- Nursery schools
- Maintained nurseries
We develop childcare, early education and extended services across the city. Through our work with all of the childcare providers and schools we aim to ensure all children living in the area get the best opportunities.We aim to deliver support that is underpinned with the national Every Child Matters framework. This framework enables us to offer support for all children so that they achieve the five outcomes:
- Be healthy
- Stay safe
- Enjoy and achieve
- Make a positive contribution
- Achieve economic well-being
