Grants Officers support and advise on business and sustainability issues including business training, monitoring and audit functions. They also administer the Sure Start Grant Funding; dealing with Bids prior to and following the Sure Start Grant Panel.
The Panel meets on a termly basis to consider funding matters and Grant Applications. A list of the Key Dates is detailed below:
Applications for Sure Start Funding that are to be considered at Grant Panel must be received in the Early Years office by no later than 5pm on the dates designated as ‘Grant Application Deadline’ below:

All applications received will be acknowledged by return. Any applications received after the deadline will have to be considered at a subsequent Panel Meeting.

Sure Start Grant
This is for new Out of School provision (such as Breakfast, After School, Wrap Around or Holiday Schemes)

Sure Start Sustainability Funding
This is sustainability for existing Childcare businesses and there are 2 levels of application for those requesting less than £5,000 or more than £5,000.

Childminder Start Up Grant
This is a start up grant for new Childminders. It is awarded only if a need can be demonstrated for the provision in the area that the Childminder will be working in.
