Dave - Locality Information Officer (South East)

As Locality Information Officer my job is to collect as much information as possible about my region, such as childcare, health, education etc. and share this with families and professionals throughout Wolverhampton. I regularly visit Carer and Toddler groups, libraries, Children’s Centres etc. within my locality talking to parents and carers and telling them about our service.

Hannah - Locality Information Officer (North)

I am based at HMP Featherstone as the Family Services Co-ordinator 3 times a week. I offer information to prisoners helping them to maintain family ties, by co-ordinating Enhanced Family Visits every 6 weeks, linking with their children's school work and offering 1-2-1 advice and support. I help to make the prisoners families aware of what services are available to them in their local areas and engage with various agencies that can support the families needs.

The other 2 days, I am based at the Wolverhampton Familiy Information Service as a Locality Officer for the North of the city, this involves attending local childcare provisions, health centres, maternity wards, libararies and children's centres giving parents and carers impartial information, advice and guidance on a range of topics including financial help and childcare options.

Joy - Childcare Broker / Information development officer

I am an information officer and childcare broker. The brokerage service helps parents/carers who need further support in finding suitable childcare. I also maintain the accounts system for the Service. I work two days per week and so do not have a locality area as such but any spare capacity is allocated to the South-West Area with Raj.

Raj - Locality Information Officer (South West)

I work in the south West area of sunny Wolverhampton in the community. My aim is to bring awareness to the community of our service and what’s available regarding childcare, activities and other services. On a regular basis I visit various Carer & Toddler Groups, Health Centres and Libraries to deliver information and support to parent and carers. This gives them the opportunity to make any enquiries regarding childcare, tax credits and any other service.

Sarah - Information Technology and Marketing Co-ordinator

I co-ordinate the marketing and publicity for the Family Information Service, working along side locality officers to find out about events going on in the city.

I oversee the Family Service Directory and have responsibility for inputting data onto the directory, sending out packs to new applicants and keeping records up to date.  I developed the Centre Start website, as well as the main FIS website and part of my role is to keep these up to date.

Steph - Locality Officer (North)

As a Locality Officer working in the north of Wolverhampton, I visit Carer/Toddler Groups, Health Centres, Maternity wards, Schools, Libraries, Children’s Centres and anywhere else we can find parents to provide information and support on a wide range of subjects e.g. childcare, financial help and support groups.

I also work on a project along side Families Do Matter at HMP Featherstone to facilitate the Enhanced Family Visits that take place every six weeks. We provide a wide range of activities and encourage dads to participate with their children.
